LCM is a low commitment group. Come when you can, stay as long as you want, and feel no pressure! We do not track attendance and there are no fees to come to LCM!
The LCM space is open to students 7 days a week. On your first night visiting LCM we will show you how to do the door code and add you to the group me so you know whats happening in our space!
Students come throughout the week to eat leftovers, use the kitchen, nap on the bean bags, study and attend virtual class, and so much more!

LCM is an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) organization. This means that we believe Jesus died on the cross to save all people on earth, who he deeply loves.
LCM is rooted in spreading God’s love through acceptance, social justice, and love. Love Lives Here, and you are welcome and celebrated no matter your religious status, (you do not need to be Lutheran, or Christian - come to explore faith and ask questions) sexuality, (we love and support the LGBTQ community, and aren’t just saying that) and uniqueness (we can’t wait to learn what makes you, you!)
We are also a Reconciling in Faith organization. This means that we recognize that the Church as a whole has made mistakes, and that we actively work to reverse these mistakes.
We are proud to be a safe place for individuals who have experienced harm from the Church before, and can’t wait to have the chance to extend to them the true love of God.

The LCM community is diverse. University of Iowa Undergraduate and Graduate students attend, as well as Kirkwood Students who live in the area. LCM students have all different majors, past life experiences, viewpoints, and interests. There is a place for you here, and we hope to meet you soon!

LCM is on the corner across from Pop’s BBQ and Caseys, right down the street from the PapaJohn Business Building. Our space is on the lower level of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and we have our own entrance. Look for the huge “Love Lives Here” mural and ring the doorbell at our main entrance right next to it!
